Yeh, it is quite a shock. Although i must admit, i heard something about this awhile ago. Rumours about Leah leaving have been doing the rounds on the Butterfly Newsgroups for a few weeks now, although it was never really confirmed or denied, so i just took it as a rumour.
Really sad too see Leah go. She really brougt Messenger closer to its users through the MessengerSays Blog (and even her own one, IMUnplugged prior to the Windows Live Messenger transition).
I hope the departure of Leah will not effect the relationship between users and developers though
