some scripts are a mystery to me...turn it on, disturbing smile crosses my face...then nothing :(

one example is almight 8-ball. sounds fun(ish). doesnt seem to work 4 me tho. am i doing something wrong???
The almighty 8-ball is a script by my friend Sam. I don't believe you can trigger the script yourself. You'll need someone to send the !command to you (although I don't remember what that command is). Depending on the function of scripts, you might not notice they are working unless you use them ;)
The problem with scripting is that it is too easy. Some don't have any prior programming experience, and hence the projects are not managed well, and turn out rather unprofessional. However most people who make these unprofessional scripts, that are poor quality, usually have all the great ideas :p.

... and sometimes it's the other way round ;) (the scripts are professional but bad ideas)

Yes you can. You need some basic coding knowledge, Messenger Plus! Live scripting system is based on Microsoft's JScript 5.6. But any developer will figure it out soon enough. Download the official documentation to get started. Also check out MPscripts.net which is a good resource for script developers. And of course you can post your questions in this forum section.
