You posted on msghelp about this, and the response was simple: they didn't steal your design, you stole their Vista design. You did it for a skin, they didn't steal your ideas, they just kept their original ones.

I don't believe this is up for discussion, but I'll leave the thread open just to see what everyone else has to say about this. However, you didn't invent the Vista theme, you weren't even the first to make a Messenger theme based on Vista. Microsoft invented the theme for Vista, and themed most of their applications accordingly, and are now working on doing so to WLM. That's it. You aren't being stolen from, they are.

As what has been said, I doubt Microsoft copied your style, don't forget that it looks like the GUI in Window Live Mail Desktop beta.

That all makes sense as they are all Windows Live applications so MS would apply a unified style across them all

i must say, (first post in awhile) that the team really SCREWED UP with Wlmail, its missing alot of the functionaly of WLMDb (one of which is seperate identities) thier excuse is basically to tell us how to set our computers up, instead of listening to us and how we want it setup.

WLmail is a downgrade from Outlook Express in all regards.

as to the copying, whether they did or not, microsoft in the end is the one with millions of dollars and a team of lawyers, so i'd watch what your claiming, they might take offence,.. god knows they have to less <<

This proves when one design gets boring, it takes too much effort to update them all again. They need to be unique, have their own flare to them .

Thanks for pointing this out. I would change it but it appears that I have lost all of my admin permissions in the admin cp

likely a result of one of the updates. its been reported on the mybb forums before at one point.
