hey again
Hey everyone!

Hope everyone had a great christmas. I've literally just finihsed assembling my computer, which has been a pain for the past 5 months... Around August my PC started to freeze, sometimes, reboot, sometimes not boot at all and sometimes even gave me a BSOD. However, the code apparently did not exist according to microsoft... Fantastic. After some diving i found the root of the problem was labelled as a "memory" hardware problem. I tired changing my RAM to no avail, changing the RAM slot, and nothing happened. I was pondering as to what this oculd be and someone somewhere suggested it could be the cache in my processor, however, there and not that many socket 939 processors for sale anymore for some reason... Meaning: my beautiful Fatal1ty, and therefore the obsolete AMD 3800 processor and DDR400 RAM all became practically useless. I couldnt boot up my computer for more than ten mins, if i managed to get past the XP loading screen...

However, the plus side: i've just finished installing my new Intel based motherboard, it's a lot quieter and packs a bit more of a punch. The best bit: i can use my computer again!

So, whats the news? Anything interesting happened over christmas? Everyone have a good christmas?

ps: thanks for your email .Lou, it's nice to know someone realises i've disappeared :p

Welcome back finally, and you're quite welcome :) Glad to see a great designer is back (A). Great Christmas for me in Cuba Xso_cheesy, but bad when I got home to find our basement was half demolished due to a flood :p. Oh well, my stuff wasn't touched.

RE: hey again
Hey, Christmas was alright thanks, you get or do anything good? or at new year? Anyway good to have some methosy goodness back on the forums ;)

Today a courier for eBuyer came and took my broken graphics card away (it suddenly stopped working a few weeks ago) so hopefully a new one will arrive before long [I've been trying to run Vista on only 16mb of graphics memory since then :|], plus I just spent about £40 on play.com without really realising, my bad :p. Other than that I'm trying to revise for 5 modular exams I have next week and the week after :(

What are you up to these days then apart from despairing over your computer?

I got an iPod classic for christmas... Yes, yes, bring on the jeers, for once in my life im allowed to sucum to apple's lure, lol. Thanks, im sure I'll be able to spread my supposed goodness a little while I am here :p

Ouch... Thankfully the graphics card in my system is the only thing that hasn't gone wrong at one point or- oh wait a minute. No, it was the first thing that went wrong, there was a hardware problem after a month or so and it looked like static you get on a TV... Nevermind, I feel your pain andyman, lol.

I'm the same with exams, I've got my A2 exams for college coming up at the end of Janurary, thank god they're the easy ones: Mechanics [Maths], The Clockwork Universe [Physics in terms of space and matter in other words] and General Studies.

Erm... I'm not sure that I *have* gotten upto anything. I've been getting together my university applications, because I've applied for architecture and not taken Art so most are asking for drawings or portfolios, and each university is asking for a different thing, so it's a hectic time. Fortunately I've got an offer from Nottingham (where I want to go) without submitting anything.
